PREVIOUSLY ON THE MVPs

The 2016 Soundcity MVP Awards and Festival, hosted by comedian Basketmouth, proved to be an exciting whirlwind of jaw-dropping moments and show-stopping talent. Tekno, who had the most nominations, brought home the most plaque, including the coveted Song of the Year honor for “PANA.” Wizkid also received a statue for African Artiste of the Year, the award that marked the first time male and female musicians (Vanessa Mdee and Yemi Alade) went head-to-head in a category.

The most meaningful takeaways from the evening included the high energy and heart-wrenching performances from Olamide, Patoranking, Niniola, Mr. Eazi with Banky W and Adesua Etomi making their first appearance as a couple which was unknown to guests then.
